We work closely with one of the best Educational Consultants, David Heckenlively, who is also a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Combining our expertise we

go beyond what most therapists offer by providing both educational solutions and therapeutic support.

As licensed psychotherapists, we bring to our practice over 15 years of experience helping adolescents and families. We are held to higher clinical and ethical standards than traditional educational consultants. We are also able to foster whole family healing for adolescents and their families by providing individual therapy, family therapy, and weekly parent support groups.

Like traditional educational consultants, we believe that a challenging and exciting academic experience is an integral component of an adolescent's healthy life. Each adolescent's education is a deeply important aspect of his or her Action Plan. We

are familiar with a vast array of educational alternatives, local treatment options, therapeutic schools and programs nationwide. We make every effort to help

the adolescent be more successful in the home environment.

The comprehensive assessment begins with a meeting with the parents. With their permission, we gather information from involved professionals, including teachers, counselors, doctors, and others. In some cases, we recommend psychological testing to fully ascertain the teen's level of cognitive, academic, or emotional functioning. We also assess the level of risk for self-harm and the teen's motivation for treatment.
