We are concerned as a local community by the alarming frequency of teen suicides and alcohol/drug related fatalities in Marin County recently. Our mission is to find effective solutions that support the health and well-being of our young people.

Teen Suicide Prevention

Today's teens are dealing with unprecedented levels of stress, placing them at risk for depression and suicide. Many young people feel overwhelmed and believe they have no resources for addressing their concerns. As a community, we will discuss how we can reach the teens in need of our support and provide valuable resources for them.

Auto accidents are the leading cause of death for teens and they are frequently related to drugs and alcohol. Drug and alcohol experimentation among teens is at an all time high in Marin County. What can we do as a community to educate and protect our young people from the inherent risks of drug and alcohol use?

The Youth Addiction and Suicide Prevention Coalition (YAP-C) is a group of concerned friends, neighbors, students and parents, professionals and non-profits,  counselors and religious leaders who have come together to address problems related to teen suicide and drug/alcohol abuse in our community.
